Each department is ranked in the top 30% of all national institutions by the National Research Council. A wide range of undergraduate core courses reflects the continuously increasing discipline of biosciences. There is also a department of Neurobiology and Behavior.
Cell function, organism development, genetics, population studies, and the environment, among others. We commonly combine computational and experimental research, and much of our work spans traditional disciplinary lines. This includes a study on learning, memory, and the social/creative brain.
Biological tissues, including the origins of cancer, cell repair and regrowth, and developmental disorders. Our diverse researchers expose students to topics, stem cell biology fundamentals, central nervous system. Botany is plant structure, growth, reproduction, metabolism, development, diseases, ecology, & evolution.
As a result, the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry's faculty are interested in protein structure and synthesis, gene organization and regulation, cell signaling, immunology, host-pathogen interactions, biochemical genetics, cell, and developmental biology, microbiology, and virology, among other topics.
Ecology and evolutionary biology study the evolution of adaptations and how organisms function in ecological time. The faculty of the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology study organismal structure and function, soil ecology, and ocean ecology.
